What’s Your Philanthropic Method?

I’m wondering, and it’s not a challenge, how do you give back to your community?

Do you volunteer?

Where? When? How often? Why?

Do you donate to charitable foundations?

What do you donate? To who? How often? Why?

Do you do something else instead?

What’s your philanthropic method?

I’d like to know, so comment away!

One Response to What’s Your Philanthropic Method?

  1. Michael Simone says:

    Do you volunteer? Yes.

    Where? When? How often? Why?
Boy’s Hope/Girl’s Hope, about once a month, because direct service to other human beings is one of the things that keeps me sane, and because these kids deserve a better shot than the one the world would naturally give them.

Do you donate to charitable foundations?
    A little.

What do you donate? To who? How often? Why?
Usually about $50 a year to Catholic Charities. They support works of service and outreach that I strongly believe in.

Do you do something else instead?
Um… I’m a Jesuit priest. Does that count?

    What’s your philanthropic method?
Focus most of my energy and resources on a small number of organizations that I commit to, so I can build a long-term relationship with them.
